Solicitors' Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII)

The recent renewal of Solicitors’ Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) proved to be extremely challenging for all concerned not least for the law firms who were faced with significant premium increases for their annual cover.

This is mainly as a result of an increase in claims against practices and, in particular, a significant increase in claims notifications and settlements in the area of conveyancing.

We in O’Leary Insurances believe that the 1st of December 2010 renewal will be equally challenging.

We are currently working with all of our selected insurer partners to ensure that they are willing to support the Solicitor PI market again in 2010/2011. In addition we are in active discussion with potential new insurers who, we hope, will assist us in our goal of securing cover for our clients at competitive terms for the coming year.
